The ACS Award recognises and rewards university African Caribbean Societies that have performed above and beyond what is expected of a university society. The Awards are presented to winners by a high profile political, business or corporate leader in the presence of African Caribbean Society presidents and members during the Annual ACS Leadership Summit.

We are looking for an event that brings together the best of everything the African Caribbean Society should be about. This can be a cultural show, ball, variety show, party etc.
The winner of ACS Event of the Year will be evaluated based on the theme of the event, marketing & promotion (including event flyers, promo videos, websites etc), number of attendees, event presentation (including venue location & capacity), the quality of the performances (including guest speakers or panellists), event sponsors/partners, the professionalism of the event team, post event feedback (including photos, videos etc)

This award goes to an ACS member, non member or committee member who has excelled academically, but also differentiated themselves from the rest through their non academic activities. This can be through business, charity, sports, entertainment etc. constant strive at excellence. This may be a current student or recent graduate. The ACS Student of the Year will be awarded to an individual whose academic achievement, community initiative, personal determination at excellence has seen them achieve what many only dream about.

Have you been creating some really innovative videos for your ACS this year? Has your video been a hit on YouTube? Do you think deserve to be rewarded for your creative talent? Well, this award category might be for you. We are looking for the ACS that has created a super innovative way to promote an event or drive a new campaign using a video platform. This can be a professional or homemade video. The video much have been created in the 2011/12 academic year and would have been linked to an ACS event or activity. This can be a trailer, promo or summary of an event.
